What Quran Classes Cost in the UK in 2026 — And What You Should Get
Last updated: August 28, 2026
UK Quran pricing is unusually opaque. Two providers can quote the same monthly figure for very different amounts of teacher time, so compare cost per contact minute rather than cost per month.
Typical UK price bands
- Masjid weekend madrasah: roughly £15–£30 per month, group classes, often heavily subsidised.
- In-person private tutor visiting the home: £15–£30 per hour, so £120–£240 per month for weekly-plus lessons.
- Online 1-on-1 classes: broadly £35–£60 per month for two to five short sessions a week.
- Intensive Hifz programmes: from £70 per month upward, reflecting daily contact and revision checking.
What should be included at any price
- The same named teacher every lesson.
- A free trial before payment — three lessons is the fair standard.
- Written monthly progress reporting to parents.
- Monthly rolling payment with no joining fee and no long lock-in.
- A sibling discount if you enrol more than one child.
Hidden costs to ask about
Registration fees, mandatory printed materials, charges for rescheduling a lesson, and holiday billing. Ask specifically: if we go to Pakistan or Turkey for three weeks, are we charged? A reasonable provider pauses or reschedules.
Is the cheapest option ever right?
For a confident reader who mainly needs revision, a low-cost group setting is perfectly adequate. For a beginner learning letter sounds, or a Hifz student, the cheapest option usually costs more in the long run because errors set hard and take a year to unpick.
