What Online Quran Classes Cost in the US, UK, Canada and Australia

Pricing in the online Quran market is opaque, and parents are often comparing things that are not comparable — group classes against one-to-one, untrained tutors against certified teachers, monthly plans against per-class rates. Here is how to read it.

What actually drives the price

• Class format: one-to-one costs several times more per hour than a group of eight, and produces several times the correction time.
• Teacher qualification: an ijazah holder with a decade of teaching commands more than a recent graduate.
• Session length and frequency: most schools price per thirty-minute session, and four a week is standard.
• Contract terms: annual prepayment usually buys a discount, and removes your leverage if quality drops.
• Specialisation: Hifz supervision and advanced Tajweed typically carry a premium over general recitation.

Reading a quote properly

Always convert to a cost per one-to-one contact minute. A cheaper monthly plan that delivers eight group sessions gives your child perhaps three minutes of individual correction per class; a higher plan delivering eight one-to-one sessions gives thirty. The second is frequently better value despite the higher headline figure, and this is the calculation most families never perform.

Hidden costs and hidden savings

Local madrassa fees look lower until you add the fuel, the parking, and five evenings of a parent's time. Online classes look higher until you notice there is no travel, no term-time-only restriction, and no missed weeks when the weather turns. Price the whole arrangement, not the invoice.

Questions that reveal value

• Is it genuinely one-to-one, and who is the named teacher?
• Do I receive written progress reports, and how often?
• What happens to unused classes if we travel?
• Can I cancel monthly, or am I locked in?
• Is there a free trial long enough to judge — three days, not fifteen minutes?

Sibling and family arrangements

Most schools discount for a second and third child, which materially changes the maths for larger families. If you have three children, ask for a family rate before enrolling any of them — it is almost always available and almost never advertised.
