The most common reason families abandon Quran classes is not cost or teacher quality — it is a timetable that quietly conflicts with school pickup, football practice or a parent's shift. Getting the slot right in week one is worth more than any amount of enthusiasm in month one.

The three slots that survive

• Before school (6:30–7:30am local): the highest completion rate of any slot, because nothing else competes for it.
• Straight after school (4:00–5:30pm local): works well for primary-age children, before fatigue and homework set in.
• After Isha (8:00–9:00pm local): best for teenagers and adults, poor for under-tens.

United States and Canada

Eastern and Central families have the widest choice, since teacher availability in Pakistan and the Middle East overlaps comfortably with both early morning and evening North American hours. Pacific-time families should lean towards the early-morning slot: 6:30am PT is a mid-evening slot for the teacher and avoids the late-night crunch entirely. Remember that daylight saving shifts in March and November move the class by an hour unless the slot is re-confirmed.

United Kingdom and Ireland

The 4:30–6:30pm window after school is the most popular and therefore the most competitive — book it early in September. In winter, families who pray Maghrib early often prefer a 7:15pm slot which comfortably fits between Maghrib and bedtime for older children.

Australia and New Zealand

Australian families have the easiest arrangement of all: the after-school window in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Auckland lands in the morning for teachers, which is when teachers are freshest and availability is highest. Perth families in particular can usually secure any slot they ask for. The main watch-out is the state-by-state daylight saving difference between NSW/VIC and QLD/WA.

Sample weekly timetable that works

• Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu: 30-minute one-to-one class at a fixed local time.
• Friday: no class — Jumu'ah and family time.
• Saturday: 45-minute longer session, used for revision consolidation.
• Sunday: rest, or a short listening-only session in the car.

Protecting the slot

Treat the class like a school lesson, not an optional activity. Families who write it into the shared family calendar, keep the same teacher, and reschedule rather than cancel see roughly double the twelve-month retention of families who take it week by week. If a slot repeatedly clashes, change the slot permanently instead of missing classes — a permanent worse time beats an ideal time you never attend.
